5 cooling summer drinks ideas

A refreshing, welcoming drink can take the edge off a long, hot day. These simple ideas may be just the thing to add a beautiful and cooling new dimension to your summer menu!

1. Pink Bubbles

Freshly squeezed orange juice
a small handful of mint leaves

I like to blend all ingredients so there is no trace of mint leaf texture. I keep the blend in an airtight glass jar in the fridge and when we are ready to drink, mix it half-and-half with sparkling mineral water.

2. Tropical Treat

1 Mango, peeled & chopped
1 cup pineapple, chopped
1 frozen banana
1 cup coconut water

Blend & enjoy!

3. Sparkling Cider

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 lemon, juiced

Simply mix the lemon and cider and then fill the glass with sparkling mineral water and ice. I had my doubts about this combination, which I first found at Foodmatters.tv but it was a massively pleasant surprise and is a lovely cleansing, non-alcoholic alternative to serve to guests.

4. Summerlicious

2 Lebanese cucumbers (you can keep the skin on or peel)
1/4 pineapple, peeled & chopped
small handful of mint

Blend these ingredients to achieve a thick, smooth, delicious base for your drink and then top up with cold sparkling mineral water or coconut water.

5. Raspberry Rush

1/3 cup frozen raspberries
1 – 2 pears, peeled & cored
5 basil leaves
1 cup filtered water

Simply blend & drink!
