“Diary of a girl on a cleanse” is my column exposing life on my 5 day cleanse. Each Friday a new day on the cleanse will be revealed! These are my thoughts at the end of day two. Click this link for my diary on Day 1.
I woke this morning feeling overwhelmed by my day ahead. My eyes were still a bit puffy and I even had the feeling that a head cold was coming. I had to force myself to think, “I can do this!”
My goal for the morning was to have a clear and focussed session with my private client. I knew that meant that I needed to take some extra time prior to the meeting to clear the rest of the thoughts swamping my mind.
I had The Salad Smoothie for breakfast, which was delicious. I didn’t get my brisk walk in but I did take the time to do extra breathing before my client and this gave me clarity and confidence for the session, which went really well.
It was a fairly busy day and I generally had good energy. The highlight of the day was definitely the soup, which was absolutely delicious & Kelvin enjoyed it also. I followed it up with body brushing, a shower and oiling my body. I felt warm, cosy and refreshed after this night time routine.
I have noticed that overall, I have been calmer than usual over the last couple of days. I woke up feeling overwhelmed today but it quickly passed as I just put one foot in front of the other. I also feel very virtuous after a good Day One on the cleanse… my mind did wander to food snacks in the afternoon (since the kids were having delicious treats), but I made another cup of herbal tea, which got me through.
Today was a good day except for the moments when I could smell what the kids were eating!
I have really noticed how much extra food I eat throughout a day – the cleanse is highlighting that. I have also really noticed the benefits of focused breathing. It is like a “circuit breaker” when I am feeling a little anxious or if I need to disconnect from one thought before focusing on another.
I feel good tonight.
